Waste Pro’s Jennifer Herring Promoted to Divisional Vice President for Atlanta, GA
She manages over 200 employees and a fleet of over 100 service vehicles.
SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Waste Pro announces Jennifer Herring’s recent promotion to Divisional Vice President for the Atlanta Region. Over the last three years, she simultaneously served as Division Manager for two Waste Pro locations, Atlanta West and Atlanta Doraville. Jennifer is a true Waste Pro who is unafraid to roll up her sleeves and get her hands dirty.
Jennifer’s leadership holds the respect of her colleagues, managers, and employees. Jennifer joined Waste Pro as an Operations Manager in 2011. She was promoted to Division Manager in 2014; at that time, service for both areas of Charlotte – Concord and Charlotte South were run out of one facility. When they split in 2018, Jennifer remained at the South Charlotte Division. In 2019, Jennifer took on another challenge in coordinating growth and municipal opportunities throughout North Carolina as Director of Government Relations and Community Affairs. She grew the company’s service areas from one contract to over 25 municipal contracts. In 2021, Jennifer was appointed Division Manager for Waste Pro’s Atlanta Division in Doraville and the Atlanta West Division. The Atlanta West site is also home to a transfer station operated by Waste Pro.
She manages over 200 employees and a fleet of over 100 service vehicles. These two divisions continue to experience explosive growth under Jennifer’s leadership, increasing their customer base by over 25%. By balancing workload, routes, and employee recruitment and retention, Jennifer can do it all: operations, marketing, and everything that requires the divisions to run smoothly. Jennifer’s commitment to the Waste Pro Way and being the ‘distinguishable difference’ in her community within the company is truly inspiring.
In October, she was asked by Keith Banasiak, SVP & Chief Operating Officer, to lend a hand in Asheville post-Hurricane Helene. She worked to coordinate basic supplies such as food, water, clothing, and portable showers. Jennifer’s extensive pre- and post-storm experience, coupled with her knowledge of the Waste Pro Way, helped to create comradery throughout the relief efforts by cooking meals for drivers coming off routes and assisting with route planning and collection efforts despite the washed-out roadways and difficult terrain.
This promotion to Divisional Vice President, the first in the company’s 24-year history, is a testament to her leadership, hard work, and dedication. Jennifer is the first female to be appointed to a Divisional Vice President role at Waste Pro, and the company is confident she will continue to excel in her new role.
