November 28, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Exhibited Mixed Trend on the Index

Shred SS prices increased by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Thursday, November 28, 2024. Copper, Brass/Bronze and Aluminum scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher on the Index. In contrast, Steel scrap prices held steady.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 350 per MT over the previous day.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 350 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 350 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded decline by CNY 150 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were down by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were unchanged over the prior day’s prices.

Cu/Al Radiator prices were down by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were flat as of Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Heater Cores prices declined by CNY 100 per MT.

In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a decline of CNY 300 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots too were down by CNY 300 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers dropped by CNY 150 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices were down by CNY 300 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also declined by CNY 300 per MT each as of November 28, 2024.

The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF inched lower by CNY 150 per MT respectively when compared with the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices edged higher by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices also were up by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

The price of 304 SS Turning recorded an increase of CNY 100 per MT.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices inched higher by CNY 150 per MT each when compared with the prior day’s price.

310 SS scrap prices were up by CNY 200 per MT as of November 28, 2024.

Shred SS prices increased by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded nominal decline on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of November 28, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT each.
