AF&PA Honored Member Companies for Outstanding Sustainability Projects

The awards are given out in honor of member organizations' exceptional efforts in diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Better Practices, Better Planet 2030 Sustainability Award winners were revealed by the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA). The awards are given out in honor of member organizations' exceptional efforts in diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability.

Clearwater Paper Company's effort to optimize SBS paperboard to better support a Circular Economy earned it the Leadership in Sustainability-Circular Value Chain award. Domtar received recognition as the Leadership in Water Management winner. According to an AF&PA news release, Green Bay Packaging was the recipient of the Leadership in Sustainability-Greenhouse Gas Reductions award.

The Leadership in Sustainability-Resilient U.S. Forests award went to the Forestland Stewards Partnership between International Paper and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Sonoco received an Innovation in Sustainability award for their paper-based packaging line, EnviroFlex Paper ULT 2.0. Also, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion award went to the DS Smith Packaging Lebanon, Indiana Interpreters Program.

The paper sector will be strengthened by the winners' innovative use of new tactics, according to AF&PA President and Board Chair Howard Coker.
