November 7, 2024: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on the Index
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices were unchanged over the previous day.
TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper and aluminum scrap prices edged higher on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Thursday, November 7, 2024. Stainless Steel, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too were up on the Index. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady when matched with the day before.
Copper Scrap Prices
The price of Alternator scrap witnessed a marginal increase of $0.01 per Lb on the Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing was up by $0.18 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.18 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.18 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.03 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were up by $0.02 per Lb on the Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.18 per Lb.
Copper Radiator prices recorded an increase of $0.05 per Lb.
Copper Transformer Scrap prices were up by $0.01 per Lb over the day. Cu Yokes prices reported an increase of $0.02 per Lb. Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices held steady from the previous day.
Also, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.02 per Lb each as of Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices went higher by $0.02 per Lb.
Heater cores prices were up by $0.03 per Lb on the Index.
Romex Wire prices edged higher by $0.03 per Lb over the previous day.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Xmas Lights, Sealed units and Starters increased by $0.01 per Lb each from the previous day’s price levels.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.02 per Lb. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also went higher by $0.02 per Lb each.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions increased by $0.02 per Lb over the day.
Also, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions recorded a jump of $0.03 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively when compared with the previous day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were flat. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers prices remained unchanged as of October 1, 2024.
Breakage 50% Recovery and Chrome Wheels inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices increased by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.
Litho Sheets and MLC Clips were up by $0.01 per Lb each.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices also went higher by $0.01 per Lb.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC recorded a jump of $0.01 per Lb each.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices also were up by $0.01 per Lb.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 Bundle prices remained flat.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change as of November 7, 2024.
HMS 80/20 prices held steady.
Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS scrap prices held steady.
301 SS prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices also were up by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
304 SS Turning prices increased by $0.01 per Lb as of November 7, 2024.
309 SS and 310 SS prices recorded increase of $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively on the Index.
330 SS prices went higher by $0.03 per Lb from the prior day.
Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices also edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region increased on the Index.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap, and Brass Radiator scrap prices went higher by $0.03 per Lb each as of Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices were unchanged over the previous day.
Red Brass, Yellow Brass and Rod Borings prices increased by $0.03 per Lb each on the Index.
