October 17, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Displayed Mixed Trend on the Index

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 700 per MT.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Thursday, October 17, 2024. Copper, Brass/Bronze and Aluminum scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher on the Index. In contrast, Steel scrap prices held steady.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 700 per MT over the previous day.

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 700 per MT.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 700 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded decline by CNY 350 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were down by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT each over the prior day.

Cu/Al Radiator prices were down by CNY 150 per MT on the Index.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices recorded a decline of CNY 50 per MT as of Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Heater Cores prices declined by CNY 250 per MT.

In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices were flat on Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a decline of CNY 200 per MT over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots too were down by CNY 200 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers decreased by CNY 100 per MT each.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices were down by CNY 200 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also declined by CNY 200 per MT each as of October 17, 2024.

The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices dipped by CNY 100 per MT each from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were unchanged on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices also remained flat over the previous day.

The price of 304 SS Turning saw no change.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices inched higher by CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day’s price.

310 SS scrap prices were up by CNY 100 per MT as of October 17, 2024.

Shred SS prices too saw no variation in prices over the day.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded nominal decline on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 100 per MT as of October 17, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices witnessed decline by CNY 150 per MT each.
