Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- September 27, 2024
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,576.00 per tonne as of September 26, 2024.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (September, 20 to September 26, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index is provided below:
The prices witnessed mixed trend over the prior week. All of the scrap commodities in the region, except Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, maintained their previous week’s price level.
The Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices recorded increase by 1.96% over the previous week. The prices increased by $0.03 per Lb from $1.53 per Lb during the prior week to $1.56 per Lb during the week ending September 26, 2024.

In the meantime, Al/Cu Radiators recorded an increase of 1.72% in prices over the previous week.
The regional scrap aluminum prices displayed mixed trend during the week ending September 26, 2024.
The only gainers in terms of prices was Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators, which recorded week-on-week increase by 1.96% and 1.72% respectively.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, and 6063 Extusions/Fe held steady on the Index.
Also, no variation is prices were reported in Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF during the week.
Only Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators reported jump in prices over the previous week. The prices of Al/Cu Radiators/Fe registered week-on-week increase by 1.99%, from $1.51 per Lb at the beginning of the week to end the week at $1.54 per Lb.
Also, Al/Cu Radiators prices reported jump, rising from $1.72 per Lb to $1.75 per Lb week-on-week.

All other scrap commodities witnessed no change on the Index over the prior week.
The regional scrap aluminum prices witnessed mixed trend during the week ending September 26, 2024.
The only scrap commodities to witness increase in prices were Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators, which recorded increase by 1.94% and 1.7% respectively, upon comparison with the prior week.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, and 6063 Extusions/Fe held steady on Index.
Also, no change is prices were reported in Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF during the week.

The Chinese aluminum scrap prices displayed mixed trend over the week.
6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Aluminum ingots, Old Cast and Old Sheet prices recorded increase, upon comparison with the week before that.
On the contrary, the prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF registered week-on-week decline.
The largest decline was seen in Aluminum Transformers. The prices of the commodity were down by 0.54% week-on-week. The prices dropped from CNY 9,200 per MT to CNY 9,150 per MT during the course of the week.

The Aluminum utensil scrap prices edged higher marginally by INR 3,000 per Ton to close at INR 223,000 per ton during the week ending September 26, 2024. Similarly marginal increase in prices by 1.31% was seen in Aluminum ingots also, over the week.

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) remained unchanged during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,576.00 per tonne as of September 26, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched higher marginally from $2,512.00 a day before to $2,560.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 798,025 tonnes as of September 26, 2024, upon comparison with 800,525 a day before.
