4th September, 2024: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Fell Sharply on the Index

The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices witnessed a downward movement of CNY 200 per MT over the previous day.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the ScrapMonster Price Index, Chinese copper scrap prices fell steeply as of Wednesday, September 4^th, 2024. The price of scrap brass and aluminum decreased from the day before. Prices for scrap stainless steel also declined. Meanwhile, Steel scrap prices remained stable on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 1,150 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too declined by CNY 850 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices registered a decline by CNY 400 per MT upon comparison with the previous day. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices witnessed a downward movement of CNY 200 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices recorded a dip by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Cu Yokes and Harness Wire 35% Recovery scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices inched lower by CNY 200 per MT.

Heater Cores prices too dipped by CNY 350 per MT as of Wednesday, September 4^th, 2024.

Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT each over the previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions went lower by CNY 200 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices also were down by CNY 200 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers dipped by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 200 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices inched lower by CNY 200 per MT each as of September 4^th, 2024.

Zorba 90% INF and UBC prices saw a decrease of CNY 150 per MT from the day before.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of September 4^th, 2024.

No change in price was recorded by Cast Iron Scrap either.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were down by CNY 100 per MT.

304 SS Solid prices went lower by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.

The price of 304 SS Turning too recorded a decline of CNY 150 per MT on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices dipped by CNY 200 per MT each when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices dropped by CNY 250 per MT as of September 4^th, 2024.

Shred SS prices too witnessed a marginal decline by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.        

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded a decline.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 100 per MT as of Wednesday, September 4^th, 2024.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices too dropped by CNY 150 per MT each on the Index.
