Teck Resources Announced New Business Structure, Leadership Roles

The new business structure organizes the company into two regional business units.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Vancouver, B.C.-based Teck Resources Limited announced new business structure and leadership roles, as part of its strategy to shift towards an energy transition metals company.

The new business structure organizes the company into two regional business units. The North America business unit will comprise of Highland Valley Copper, Red Dog and Trail operations, and the Galore Creek, Schaft Creek, and New Range copper growth projects. Meanwhile, Carmen de Andacollo and Quebrada Blanca operations, Teck’s interest in Antamina, and the Zafranal, San Nicolas, and NuevaUnión copper growth projects will constitute the company’s Latin America (LAM) business unit.

Both the above units will be under the supervision of a dedicated Projects Group, that will be responsible for developing and executing brownfield and greenfield projects, said the company press release.

Teck Resources reshaped the executive leadership team reporting to President and CEO Jonathan Price. The team will be led by Ian Anderson, who has been appointed Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Commercial Officer.

The new structure and leadership will help the company capitalize on profitable growth opportunities and deliver enhanced value for its shareholders and all stakeholders, said Price.
