IAMGOLD Started Commercial Production at Ontario Gold Mine
It plans a shutdown next month to address the impact of traditional wear and tear on availability of processing circuits.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): IAMGOLD Corporation announced that the Cote Gold Mine in Ontario, Canada has reached an important milestone by attaining commercial production. The mine is operated as a joint venture along with Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. The mine has reportedly reached a minimum of 30 consecutive days of operating at an average of 60% of nameplate throughput of 36,000 tpd.

According to the latest company press release, the ramp up is in progress, with all major equipment reporting capability to operate at or above design levels. The throughput will be ramped up to 90% of nameplate capacity by the end of the current year. It plans a shutdown next month to address the impact of traditional wear and tear on availability of processing circuits.
Renaud Adams, President and Chief Executive Officer of IAMGOLD commented that the teams at Cote Gold have been methodically and iteratively testing and ramping up all facets of the mine ever since the first gold pour on 31st March, 2024. The remarkable commitment, ingenuity and teamwork have brought all the systems online, thus helping the company achieve this important milestone, he added.
