Ranked: World’s Top Ten Gold Mining Companies in 2023

The company had announced its decision to focus on organic growth opportunities, mainly in the Dominican Republic and Nevada.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The below is the list of top ten gold mining companies in the world, ranked on the basis of production figures for the full year 2023.

Denver, Colorado-based Newmont remained as the top gold producer in 2023. The yearly gold output by the company totalled 5.5 million ounces across its global operations. The output recorded 8% decline over the previous year. The acquisition of Newcrest Mining expanded the company’s presence in Australia and Canada.

The second largest gold producing company was Barrick Gold, whose 2023 production totalled 4.05 million ounces, down marginally by over 2% from the prior year. The company had announced its decision to focus on organic growth opportunities, mainly in the Dominican Republic and Nevada.

In third place was Agnico Eagle, whose production recorded 10% surge over the previous year to total 3.44 million ounces. The company had purchased the remaining stake in the Canadian Malartic. In addition to this, it has been continuously investing in various growth projects in Finland.

The other gold producers in the top ten list along with their production in million ounces is as follows: Navoi (2.9), Polyus (2.9), AnglGold Ashanti (2.59), Gold Fields (2.30), Zijin (2.17), Kinross (2.15) and Freeport McMoran (1.99).
