SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): ecomaine announces the appointment of our CEO and General Manager, Kevin Roche, as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). This prestigious appointment recognizes Kevin’s extensive experience and leadership in the field of waste management and recycling.

SWANA is North America’s leading professional association in the solid waste and recycling industry, representing more than 10,000 members across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. As Secretary of the Board of Directors, Kevin will play a vital role in guiding the organization’s strategic initiatives, promoting sustainable waste management practices, and supporting the professional development of its members.

Kevin Roche has been with ecomaine since 2004, overseeing the organization’s operations and driving its mission to deliver comprehensive and sustainable waste management services. Under his leadership, ecomaine has become a model for efficient and environmentally conscious waste management, serving over 400,000 residents in more than 70 member communities throughout Maine.

Kevin’s appointment as Secretary for FY25 is effective July 1, 2024. The SWANA Board of Directors includes delegates who represent the private sector, the technical divisions, the young professionals, and the 13 geographical regions that represent the chapters. SWANA board members contribute their insights and leadership to advance the association’s strategic goals and strengthen its position as a leading voice in the solid waste management industry.
