U.S. Steel Selected as Vibrant Index 5.0 Champion

The Vibrant Champion status is bestowed upon those organizations that score at or above the 95th percentile in each of the nine impact areas.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh-based United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) has been named a Vibrant Index 5.0 Champion for the second time. The award is in recognition of the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) leadership in the Pittsburgh region.

The Vibrant Index is an annual assessment carried out by economic development non-profit Vibrant Pittsburgh in association with the Alleghany Conference on Community Development. It evaluates the DEI practices of organizations in the area based on responses across nine impact areas. The Vibrant Champion status is bestowed upon those organizations that score at or above the 95th percentile in each of the nine impact areas.

Commenting on the achievement, David B. Burritt, President and Chief Executive Officer, U.S. Steel noted that the company’s recognition as a Vibrant Pittsburgh Champion clearly demonstrates its ongoing commitment to build and maintain a culture of belonging across its global operations.

Being one among the Vibrant Champions, U.S. Steel will share practices and policies with other DEI-leading organizations in the Pittsburgh area. Furthermore, it will work in collaboration with these organizations to deliver significant enhancement to the region’s diversity, thus securing the region’s economic success.
