DS Smith Concluded Acquisition of Serbian Packaging Firm

Founded in 1982, the family-owned business operates a single facility in Valjevo, employing 140 people.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): London-headquartered multinational packaging major DS Smith announced that it has successfully completed the acquisition of Serbia-based high-quality packaging company Bosis doo. The two companies will now leverage their collective strengths and expertise to offer innovative packaging solutions to its global customers and explore further growth opportunities in the region.

The strategic acquisition is expected to help DS Smith position itself for accelerated growth opportunities and enhanced packaging capabilities. Furthermore, it will strengthen the company’s ability to deliver exceptional value to its customers and stakeholders, said the company press release.

With the acquisition of Bosis doo, DS Smith will now have a total of 30 box plants and additional facilities in the entire Eastern European region, employing over 7,000 people. Founded in 1982, the family-owned business operates a single facility in Valjevo, employing 140 people.

Commenting on the development, Miles Roberts, Group Chief Executive, DS Smith noted that the acquisition is expected to create a stronger business in the region, mainly driven by rising demand for alternatives to plastic in Eastern Europe, especially in Serbia.
