Worker Dies After Industrial Accident at Optimus Steel in Orange County
A judge has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): One worker has died following an industrial accident at Optimus Steel in Orange County, according to information Capt. Joey Jacobs provided to KFDM/Fox4 News.
Jacobs says according to preliminary information, the incident involved a piece of machinery that ended up catching on fire. The worker was transported to a local hospital where he died.
A judge has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The Sheriff's Office and OSHA will investigate.
The incident was reported at about 2 p.m. Monday in the plant near Rose City.
Firefighters with ESD#1 put out the fire.
