Massive Gold Reserves Unearthed in Saudi Arabia
The new discovery is the first find from the exploration programme.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) announced discovery of significant gold discovery, located along a 125-kilometre strike from the existing Mansourah Massarah gold mine. The new gold discovery is expected to strengthen the miner’s production pipeline, in addition to delivering huge boost to Saudi Arabia’s mining sector.
Last year, the company had launched an exploration programme, aimed at enhancing its production pipeline, thus contributing to the development of mineral base in the country. It had focused on finding potential deposits of a similar scale and geological makeup around Mansourah Massarah in Makkah region. The new discovery is the first find from the exploration programme.
According to the company news release, multiple gold deposits have been found, thus highlighting the huge potentials for expanding gold mining activities in the region. The drilling results suggest potential for resource expansion and potential mine life extension through underground development.
In response, Ma’aden plans to conduct intensified drilling activities around Mansourah Massarah during the current year.
