SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Portland, Oregon-based Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. rebranded as Radius Recycling. The initiative reflects the company’s vision and purpose and its impact on the global economy.
The company press release noted that the new identity will help it to better align with its role as the world’s largest metal recyclers. It will reiterate the commitment to boost the recovery, reuse and recycling of essential metals, thus lending support to global initiatives to reduce carbon emissions. Commenting on the development, Tamara Lundgren, Chairman and CEO noted that metals recycling and steel manufacturing have been the primary focus areas of the company for the past several decades. The company’s reach has witnessed significant expansion, with notable expansion in scope and scale of operations. The company now operates in more than 100 communities across North American region, she noted.
The exciting next step in the company’s history reaffirms its vision for a sustainable future. The name Radius Recycling represents the future of the company, where recycled metals will serve as the centre of progress.
