Aluminum Association Launched Aluminum Forward 2030 Coalition

The Aluminum Forward 2030 coalition ensures a more comprehensive industry wide effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate changes.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The International Aluminum Association (IAI) announced launch of Aluminum Forward 2030- a coalition 25 production members of the association and 20 downstream and customer companies. The coalition aims to accelerate the aluminum industry’s journey towards net zero emissions.

The new coalition is the end product of discussions among various players in the beverage can, automotive, electrical, transport and construction industries. It will build on existing collaborations in various sectors, in order to enhance circularity and reduce emissions, thus helping to tackle global challenges.

The Aluminum Forward 2030 coalition ensures a more comprehensive industry wide effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate changes. Furthermore, it targets to help the industry in comprehensively moving toward net zero carbon by addressing various aspects of sustainability.

Commenting on the new initiative, Miles Prosser, Secretary General, IAI noted that it has become a priority for nations and businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in order to help the world combat the climate crisis. The net zero carbon must also deliver on other sustainability issues, he added.
