Equinox Gold Greenstone Project on Schedule, on Budget

The project has completed more than 2 million work hours with no lost-time injuries so far.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Equinox Gold Corp. has provided an update on construction progress at its Greenstone Project in Ontario, Canada. 

According to the miner, the project is over 66% complete and on schedule to pour gold in the first half of next year. Also, the project remains on budget, with 71% of total capital costs contracted and 55% of the construction budget spent.

The construction of MTO Patrol Yard, the Goldfield Creek diversion and the permanent effluent water treatment plant, first four bays of the truck shop and the 14-km natural gas pipeline is complete. The demolition of the old facility is underway. The pipeline is ready for commissioning in Q2 this year. The key equipment are either on site or enroute. The mine pre-production activities had gone underway in September last year with more than 2.5 million tonnes of material mined till end-2022.

The project has completed more than 2 million work hours with no lost-time injuries so far. The to-date Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate stood at 3.57 per million hours worked as at end-2022.

Greg Smith, President & CEO, Equinox Gold noted that the Greenstone Project is more than two-thirds complete and remains on budget and on schedule. The construction effort will now shift to interior mechanical, electrical and piping installation during the winter months. Also, detailed commissioning and operation readiness planning is well underway, he added.
