SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Barrick Gold Corporation announced that it has formally launched works on the Reqo Diq mine project in Balochistan, Pakistan.

The project launching ceremony, held at the Chief Minister’s secretariat on Sunday, was attended by Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, Balochistan Assembly Acting Speaker Sardar Babar Musakhail, Opposition Leader Malik Sikander Khan, MPAs and members of cabinet. The company CEO Mark Bristow along with other top company executives were also present at the ceremony.
Mr.Bezinjo noted that the stage has been reached after passing through several difficulties. The presence of opposition members in the ceremony suggests that the government and the opposition are united when it comes to development projects. The project will prove to be a blessing for the province and the country, he added.
Barrick CEO noted that it has hired the best team of experts for the project. The company has established a project office at Quetta, where recruitment process has already started. The company’s top priority would be to establish cordial and trustworthy relationship with the community. Furthermore, he promised increased investment towards uplifting the local community.
