Steel Scrap Prices- Market Update for Week Ending on 1st Dec, 2022

Meantime, prices of #1 HMS and Structural Steel fell back over the week.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):Based on price data compiled from the Scrap Monster Price Index, one could see that steel scrap prices exhibited mixed trends during the past one week period from 25^th November, 2022 to 1^st December, 2022.

North America Prices

The #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling prices edged higher on Index, recording weekly gain in prices by 3.13% and 2.94% respectively. The prices of HMS 80/20, Sheet Metal and Shredded Auto Scrap recorded no change over the previous week.

Meantime, prices of #1 HMS and Structural Steel fell back over the week.

The #1 HMS prices dropped from $280 per MT to $260 per MT over the week. (Refer the price chart provided below)

USA East Coast Prices

The price of various steel scrap commodities was a mixed bag during the previous week. The prices of #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling surged, while those of HMS 80/20, Sheet Metal and Shredded Auto Scrap maintained previous week levels.

The scrap copper categories that recorded modest dip in prices included #1 HMS and Structural Steel.

USA Midwest Prices

The region reported marginal gains in prices of #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling week-on-week. No price variations were seen in HMS 80/20, Sheet Metal and Shredded Auto Scrap.

Meantime, #1 HMS and Structural Steel prices saw correction on a weekly basis.

USA West Coast Prices

The West Coast region #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling prices inched higher marginally by 3.13% and 2.94% respectively. The prices of HMS 80/20, Sheet Metal and Shredded Auto Scrap held on to its prior-week levels. Compared to last week, #1 HMS and Structural Steel prices ended lower.

China Prices

The Chinese steel scrap market has been flat during the week. The prices of #1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap witnessed no change from the prior week. 

Europe Prices

The prices of all steel scrap commodities such as #1 HMS, Cast Iron Scrap, Grade 1 Old Steel, Grade 2 Old Steel, Grade OA Structural Plate, Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel held steady when compared with the week before.
