SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) announced that it has been reaccredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under its revised operating procedures. The revised procedures approved on 7th July, 2022 replace the earlier version that was approved on 13th June, 2017.
In his comments, Jay Larson, Managing Director, AISI Construction Technical Program appreciated ANSI for reaccrediting it as a developer of American National Standards for the design and construction of cold-formed steel. The Institute is committed to fairness, transparency and performance in its efforts to ensure steel’s competitiveness in the marketplace, he added.

AISI has been closely associated with the research and the development and maintenance of cold-formed steel codes standards and specifications. It had sought ANSI accreditation and was approved as a developer in 1999.
Currently AISI serves as Secretariat for two standards-developing committees- the Committee on Specifications and the Committee on Framing Standards. These two committees are actively involved in developing and maintaining a suite of nearly 30 design, installation and test standards. In addition, it develops and maintains a suite of design guides and manuals on various AISI standards.
