Smurfit Kappa to Acquire Cardboard Box Company Atlas Packaging
Smurfit Kappa, with operations across the UK, had reported 33% surge in revenues in the first quarter of FY22, compared with the year before.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): European packaging major Smurfit Kappa announced that its UK branch has acquired Barnstaple, UK-based cardboard box company Atlas Packaging. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Smurfit Kappa UK Limited (SKUK) declared that the independent corrugated packaging provider has strong market presence in the UK, offering a wide range of original products, primarily in the shelf-ready packaging, gift boxing and e-commerce sectors. It serves businesses of all sizes in the UK.

Commenting on the acquisition, Eddie Fellows, CEO of Smurfit Kappa Corrugated UK & Ireland said that he is extremely delighted with the acquisition and to welcome another strong professional management team into the Smurfit Kappa organisation. The acquisition of a business that has an established customer base across several industries and an excellent reputation will further strengthen its ability to service the UK market and its customers with innovative and sustainable packaging solutions, he added.
