Georgia-Pacific Announced Opening of Two New U.S. Facilities
The paper-padded mailers offer a cost-competitive alternative to plastic mailers or boxes.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading pulp and paper company Georgia-Pacific announced official opening of new facilities in McDonough, Georgia and Jonestown, Pennsylvania. These new facilities will produce an innovative, recyclable paper padded mailer for e-commerce.
This is in addition to the recently added third production line at the company’s Phoenix-area plant. With the opening of the new facilities, Georgia-Pacific has more than tripled its capacity, thus helping the company to meet the ever growing demand for more sustainable e-commerce packaging options. It will make the company capable to serve additional e-commerce customers in addition to Amazon, to whom the company has been supplying recyclable mailers since 2020.

The paper-padded mailers offer a cost-competitive alternative to plastic mailers or boxes. It offers protection in a lightweight and flexible design. Furthermore, the mailers are designed in such a way that it is easy to pack, thus improving warehouse efficiency.
Adam Ganz, vice president – commercial development at Georgia-Pacific noted that the company is excited about the opportunity to supply additional customers with a cost-competitive, sustainable packaging option. The recyclable mailer is a proven solution that surpasses both consumer and e-retailer expectations, he added.
