Tata Steel India Yearly Crude Steel Production Surged in FY22

In its filing to the stock exchanges, Tata Steel said that Q4 crude steel production totalled 4.9 million tonnes, marginally higher by 2% from the prior quarter.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tata Steel India declared provisional output during financial year 2021-’22.

The annual crude steel production surged higher significantly by 13% over the previous year to total 19.06 million tonnes during FY22. The company reported highest ever crude steel production despite the disruptions caused by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The delivery volumes in FY22 at 18.27 million tonnes were up by 6% from 17.3 million tonnes recorded in FY21. The deliveries under ‘automotive and special products’ segment increased by 27% in FY22 to surpass 2.5 million tonnes.

In its filing to the stock exchanges, Tata Steel said that Q4 crude steel production totalled 4.9 million tonnes, marginally higher by 2% from the prior quarter. The deliveries during the quarter were up 16% quarter-on-quarter to 5.12 million tonnes. This is the highest quarterly deliveries in its history, the company said.

Tata Steel’s Europe arm recorded 6% surge in output to 10.12 million tonnes in FY22. The total deliveries were up by 2% during the year to 8.99 million tonnes. The operational issues in the UK contributed to 9% production dip in Q4 FY22.

Meantime, Tata Steel Thailand recorded annual production of 1.29 million tonnes during the fiscal, down from 1.33 million tonnes in FY21. The Q4 FY22 production increased marginally to 0.34 million tonnes, in comparison with 0.32 million tonnes in Q3 FY22.
