Electronics Recycler Announced Opening of New Savannah Facility

The White Plains, New York-headquartered company will offer sustainable recycling solutions for used electronics.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading e-waste recycling company Igneo Technologies will invest $85 million in a new facility at SeaPoint Industrial Terminal Complex located on SeaPoint Boulevard in Savannah. The announcement was made by Governor Brian P. Kemp. Upon achieving full operations, the facility is expected to create at least 150 jobs in Chatham County.

The White Plains, New York-headquartered company will offer sustainable recycling solutions for used electronics. The new facility will extract reusable metal components from electronic waste while eliminating organic matter from the material. The concentrate of copper and precious metals produced at the plant will be delivered to metal smelting companies, the press release noted.

Commenting on the investment, Danish Mir, CEO, Igneo Technologies said that the company is excited to launch its first U.S. facility in the State of Georgia. The combination of dynamic business environment, dependable workforce and premier access to global trading routes has led the company in selecting Savannah area as the location of the facility. The company looks forward to create a lasting positive impact in the region’s environment, he added.
