SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Smurfit Kappa- Europe’s leading corrugated packaging company announced that it has completed significant investment in its state-of-the-art Design2Market Factory- the unique facility that helps in bringing new solutions to the market with minimal risk.
The infrastructure comprises a digital printer and a die cutter, an industry leading ISTA packaging performance lab and UX lab.
The innovative facility has so far created and tested several innovative solutions. It must be noted that the first Design2Market Factory, based in the Netherlands, has been fully operational since January this year, offering its customers the fastest way to launch their new packaging solutions. It provides the unique opportunity to initially test the prototype with customers, which could be further refined and honed, before starting production in a large scale.
Arco Berkenbosch, Vice President of Innovation and Development at Smurfit Kappa noted that the facility bring all the relevant stakeholders together on the design journey from inception through to production and certification. Furthermore, it enables customers to get their products launched on to leading e-commerce platforms including Amazon and Alibaba.
