Global Meet to Debate Actions Towards Sustainable Steel Industry

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The International Conference on Energy and Material Efficiency and CO2 Reduction (EMECR) 2022 will be held on the sidelines of the 6th edition of ABM Week- the annual event organized by the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Materials and Mining. The Conference, held for the first time in Brazil, will discuss a series of measures aimed at making steel industry more sustainable.

The 4th EMECR will be blessed with presence of renowned industry experts from various parts of the world, especially when the steel industry is facing the big challenge of transitioning itself into a low-carbon economy. The conference will showcase latest technologies that could help the industry achieve energy efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions in a short period of time.

Jose Noldin, Conference Chairman said that EMECR has been highly successful in promoting a debate on sustainability in the global steel industry since its first edition in 2011 and the subsequent editions which took place in England and Japan. It has acted as a primary forum for discussions on the decarbonisation of world steel industry. Furthermore, he added that holding the event in Brazil will deliver notable contributions to the national steel industry as well.
