Steel Dynamics Acclaimed as the 2021 Steel Producer of the Year

The final winners were selected by judging panel comprising steel industry veterans.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Steel Dynamics, Inc. (SDI) was recognized as the “2021 Steel Producer of the Year” at the Fastmarkets Global Awards for Steel Excellence. The finalists of the competition were shortlisted by judges from the Fastmarkets editorial team. The final winners were selected by judging panel comprising steel industry veterans.

Mark D. Millet, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SDI said that the company is honoured and humbled to receive the honor. He thanked all loyal customers, vendors, communities and shareholders for their valuable contribution to the success. Furthermore, he thanked its extraordinary employees for their passion, innovation and dedication. The company achieved strong performance during the unchartered environment during the previous year, that too in a safe manner, he added.

Earlier during the month, the company was selected as one of the world’s best employers for 2021 by Forbes. It was one among 236 U.S.-based businesses to make it into the prestigious list. Also, it turned out to be the only U.S.-based steel producer to be featured in the list, which comprised of 750 companies across the globe.
