Graphic Packaging Completed Acquisition of Fiber-based Packaging Solutions Provider
The acquisition transaction was valued at approximately $1.45 billion in cash.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Graphic Packaging Holding Company announced that it has successfully closed the earlier announced acquisition of AR Packaging Group AB- the second largest fiber-based consumer packaging solutions provider in Europe, operating nearly 25 converting facilities across the Eastern and Western European region. The intention to acquire the company was announced in May this year.
The acquisition transaction was valued at approximately $1.45 billion in cash. The acquisition is expected to add $1.1 billion in annual sales and $160 million in annual Adjusted EBITDA. The merged entity is expected to drive synergies of around $40 million over the next three years.

The deal boosts Graphic Packaging’s leadership position among companies serving consumer packaged goods companies. Furthermore, it expands the products portfolio by adding sustainable fiber-based packaging alternatives.
Sweden-headquartered AR Packaging had recorded net sales of approximately $1.1 billion during the previous year. It owns operates around 30 facilities spread across 13 different countries. The company’s specialized plants offer unique range of packaging solutions to customers across the world.
