POSCO expands base in Mexico, sets up new autosheet coil facilities

Leading South Korean steel producer Posco announced its plans of setting up of a couple of autosheet coil centers in central Mexico in order to meet the strong demand of automobile industry.

PUEBLA(Scrap Monster) : Leading South Korean steel producer Posco announced its plans of setting up of a couple of autosheet coil centers in central Mexico in order to meet the strong demand of automobile industry.

The production facility named Posco-MPPC located in Celaya City in the state of Guanajuato is estimated to have a production capacity of 110,000 tons.

The operations are expected to commence by 2013 end.

This is in addition to the two autosheet coil facilities of the company operating at Puebla and San Luis Potosí in Mexico. The annual production capacity of each of these units is 170,000 tons.

The additional facilities will be equipped with state-of-the-art cutting and moulding facilities, the company said. Assuring delivery of quality products,the company states that the new facilities would  help cater to the increasing demand from the Mexican market.
