According to company press release, the new environment-friendly packaging is made from recycled materials. The company has been carrying out extensive research and testing over the past several months in its effort to develop the innovative product. Cascades hopes to complete deployment of the new packaging by the end of this year.
The recycled polyfilm used in the packaging is as effective as its virgin equivalent, said François David, Vice-President, Sales, Marketing and Innovation at Cascades Tissue Group. The product, like Cascades’ other products, is being 100% or partially made of recycled fibers. Moreover, it uses 4.5 times less water and 2.4 times less energy, when compared with the North American paper industry averages, he added.
The development will enable Cascades to offer its Fluff & Tuff range of products in a more eco-friendly packaging.
