SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The most recently held EcoVadis sustainability assessment has awarded ‘Platinum’ rating to DS Smith plc. This is a significant improvement from the ‘Gold’ rating which it had received last year.

The rating places the company in the elite top 1% of all the companies assessed by EvoVadis across the globe, thus testifying the company’s exceptional sustainability efforts. It scored 90% for its performance in sustainable procurement and 80% on environmental issues. DS Smith was praised for its Supplier Engagement Programme, FCS Chain of Custody Certification and exceptional reporting on key environmental issues.

EcoVadis noted that DS Smith’s innovative packaging solutions were designed for easy dismantling and easy recyclability. The company’s Now and Next sustainability strategy was also praised as the systematic use of lighter items to save paper.
