Novelis had put an end to household foil production in 2014, due to unfavourable market conditions. The success of the antidumping and countervailing duty cases against import of unfairly priced aluminum foil led to increased demand for domestically produced household foil. This has forced Novelis to re-enter the market by investing in its idled operations. The investment demonstrates its commitment to bring new, sustainable jobs to the region, said Ryan Smith, Plant Manager.

Currently, Terre Haute plant employs 155 employees, engaged in production of light-guage aluminum.
