JSW Steel, Harsco Renewed Metal Recovery, Scrap Contract
The existing contract is set to expire in June next year.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Camp Hill, Pennsylvania-headquartered industrial and specialty waste environmental solutions provider Harsco Corporation’s division Harsco Environmental (HE) has renewed its multi-year metal recovery, scrap contract with JSW Steel’s Dolvi steel plant. The existing contract is set to expire in June next year.
According to company press release, the current contract includes the processing of steel melting shop-1 slag only. The renewed contract, which will come into effect in July this year, will add the processing of steel melting shop-2 slag. Furthermore, the new contract will support the Dolvi operation until the time it builds the proposed metal recovery plant, which is expected to deliver two-fold surge in the plant’s capacity.
JSW Dolvi Works President Gajraj Singh Rathore noted that the finalization of the contract with HE has helped the comp-any move one step forward in its journey towards solid waste utilization. He wished for a timely and successful implementation of the project.
Meantime, Harsco Environmental Regional President of India Siva Subramaniyam termed the contract renewal as another milestone in its longstanding strategic relationship with JSW Dolvi. It aims to deliver an upgraded and efficient metal recovery plant in the shortest possible time, he added.
