AF&PA Unveiled Advocacy Priorities for 2021
AF&PA calls for promoting sustainable forest management practices with the aim of protecting the industry’s fiber supply.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) announced advocacy priorities for the current year. They outlines the steps of actions the association intends to take in order to ensure the industry’s continued growth, thereby creating American manufacturing jobs.
AF&PA announced that it remains committed to address critical issued during the pandemic as and when they arise and take proactive measures to ensure success of the industry. The association plans to launch 2030 goals that build on its sustainability successes to further advance the industry into the coming decade and beyond. It also outlines policies that help it meet the challenges of changing climate, air quality, water stewardship, product stewardship, health and safety.

The association points out that efforts to educate consumers on right ways to recycle, so as to increase the quality and quantity of paper in the recycling stream, continues to remain a top priority. AF&PA calls for promoting sustainable forest management practices with the aim of protecting the industry’s fiber supply.
In addition to encouraging policies to implement necessary infrastructure enhancements, the association also will play a key role in other advocacy discussions including international trade and tax policies.
