Victoria Gold’s Production in H2 2020 Surpassed Guidance

The mine output for the entire year totalled 116,644 ounces.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Victoria Gold announced that production from its Eagle gold mine in Central Yukon Territory, Canada during the second half of 2020 surpassed the earlier guidance. It must be noted that this is the first half-yearly production results to be announced by the company. The mine had started commercial production only in July last year.

According to company press release, the production reached 77,748 ounces during the second half of 2020, exceeding the revised production guidance by the company of 72,000 to 77,000 ounces. The production for Q4 last year totalled 42,174 ounces, higher by almost 20% from the prior quarter. Q4 recorded the best quarterly output at the Eagle gold mine. The mine output for the entire year totalled 116,644 ounces.

The company announced that ore stacking on the leach pad has now been curtailed for a period of 90 days, owing to cold weather conditions. Meantime, mining operations, primary crushing, stockpiling of ore, leaching and gold production will continue as usual. The company has mobilized a number of specialty contractors to finalize the mine optimization program, which it had commenced during the fall.

The company will continue with its effective health protection measures in order to safeguard employees and local residents from the pandemic, said Mr. John McConnell, President and CEO, Victoria Gold.
