Ontario Lumber Giant Weston Forest Acquired by a Private Investment Firm
The suppliers of Weston too are expected to benefit from the deal.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The private investment firm Watermill Group announced acquisition of Weston Forest- one of North America’s leading full service distributors and remanufacturers of softwood and hardwood lumber and specialty panel products. Watermill has included Canada-based private investment firm Walter Capital Partners as a co-invest partner in the transaction.
The acquisition deal covers Weston Forest’s several facilities across eastern Canada and the United States that provides products and services to customers. The suppliers of Weston too are expected to benefit from the deal.

At the same time, Steve Rhone, President, Weston Forest said that the partnership will provide the company with strategic expertise and financial resources to drive the next phase of its growth.
The financial advisor to the transaction for Watermill was Richter Advisory Group Inc., whereas Proskauer provided legal counsel. Also, Torkin Manes provided legal counsel and Deloitte and EY offered advisory services to Weston Forest.
