SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Global Commitment 2020 Progress Report published by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation suggests rise in use of recycled plastics by signatories during the previous year. However, it notes that these firms will have to make further progress in order to reach the 2025 goal.

According to the report, Walmart increased its recycled plastic use across product packaging lines from less than 0.5% in 2018 to 9% in 2019. The company consumed almost 22 million pounds of recycled plastic in the previous year. The group of signatories reported progress in usage of post-consumer resin (PCR). The average PCR for packaged goods and retail signatories has increased by 22% over the prior year in 2019.
