ALACERO Conclave to Explore LatAm Steel Industry Opportunities

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Latin American Steel Association (Alacero) announced that it will hold a virtual event to analyze the current and future opportunities of Latin American industry. The event, to take place on 10th November, will last for 4 hours. It will see participation of most influential experts from Latin America and elsewhere in the world. The event will be moderated by Paolo Rocca, CEO of Techint Group.
The main panelists include Dani Rodrik, Andres Malamud and Andres Oppenheimmer. The other participants include Dr. Graciela Marquez Colín, Mexico's Secretary of Economy, and Dr. Paulo Guedes, Brazil's Minister of Economy.

The topic of discussion of the main panel will be 'The Reindustrialization of Latin America, an opportunity for the Post-Pandemic scenario'. Dani Rodrik will present 'The future of globalization and the development strategy'. The discussion comprises of a presentation 'Latin America in the face of the ‘Great Decouple’: Integration or Fragmentation?' by Andres Malamud. In addition, Andres Oppenheimmer will comment on 'The challenges of Mexico and Latin America in the new international situation and the future of work.'
The closing session of the event will have a panel discussion about the future of the industry and the role in reindustrialization, which will see participation by the main CEOs in the Latin American steel industry.
