Nevada Copper Resumes Operations at Pumpkin Hollow Underground Mine
The processing plant was restarted on August 20, 2020.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Nevada Copper announced that it has restarted milling operations at the Pumpkin Hollow underground project. The processing plant was restarted on August 20, 2020.
According to company press release, there are approximately 160,000 tons of stockpiled materials at surface, which will be immediately available for production. This stockpiled ore will be further supplemented with additional development ore and subsequent stope ore, which will be hoisted from the East North Ventilation Shaft (ENVS). Also, the company expressed confidence in hoisting the Main Shaft in Q4 this year, as scheduled before.

Commenting on the important development, Evan Spencer, Chief Executive Officer of Nevada Copper noted that the company is extremely encouraged by the restart of its processing plant at Pumpkin Hollow mine. The full workforce has been mobilized. In addition, all the operations have been transitioned back into production. The company will report on the mine’s progress in the forthcoming months, Spencer added.
In early-April this year, the company had announced temporary suspension of production at the project in response to strict travel and workplace restrictions by the state government to fight the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. Initially, the company had expected the temporary suspension to last for at least six weeks.
