Eldorado Gold Achieved Robust Gold Output in Q2

The production at Olympias mine in northern Greece increased by 159% over Q2 last year to 17,921 ounces.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  Eldorado Gold Corporation announced stronger second quarter 2020 preliminary gold production. The quarterly production surged higher by nearly 50% from the year-ago quarter. The company reported 137,782 ounces of preliminary production in Q2 2020.

The gold production at Kisladag mine in western Turkey surged higher by 130% over Q2 2019 to 59,890 ounces. Over the prior quarter, the production was up by almost 19%. The increased production was mainly on account of higher grade and tonnes of stacked ore due to drier weather conditions in June.

The production at Olympias mine in northern Greece increased by 159% over Q2 last year to 17,921 ounces. Compared to Q1 2020, the production recorded an increase of around 18%. The works over the past year to increase underground development and backfilling has resulted in increased production, the company noted.

Meantime, the production at Lamaque gold mine in Quebec increased marginally from 33,095 ounces in Q2 2019 to 33,140 ounces in Q2 this year. On the contrary, the preliminary Q2 production at Efemcukuru mine in Turkey, at 26,876 ounces, was slightly lower than the corresponding quarter last year.
