Barrick Gold Joint Venture Taps Gold Mining's Vast Potentials

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Barrick Alliance joint venture between Barrick Gold and Japan Gold Corp. has provided update on exploration activities within the Hokusatsu Region of the Southern Kyushu Epithermal Gold Province. The joint efforts are aimed at unleashing the nation’s mining potential.
Accordingly, the venture has commenced regional scale geographical-gravity surveys, with regional work programs commencing on the 14 Barrick Alliance projects in the region, covering approximately 93,290 hectares. Further, the companies have reportedly completed bulk leach extractable gold (BLEG) and rock chip sampling over eight of the 14 targets, covering a combined area of 33,506 hectares.

Projects already covered by BLEG and rock sampling include Tobaru, Gumyo, Kurino, Onoyama, Onoyama-Yamagano extension, Mizobe-Onoyama extension, Mizobe and the Mizobe 1st Extension.
It also announced commencement of collection of semi-detailed geophysical-gravity data in southern Kyushu region. The regional sampling program in southern Kyushu will resume later during the year. Meantime, the BLEG and rock chip sampling program in Hokkaido is expected to commence late July this year.
The regional exploration program was initiated in May 2020. Barrick Gold will earn 51% interest upon completion of a pre-feasibility study.
