Olympic Steel Declares Official Opening of its New Buford Facility
To celebrate the official opening, the company plans to host an opening event later this year.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Cleveland-based leading national metals service center Olympic Steel Inc. announced opening of its new facility in Buford, Georgia. This is the company’s fourth facility in the Southeast East U.S. region, in addition to already existing facilities in Locust, North Carolina; Winder, Georgia; and Hanceville, Alabama.
The recent expansion works at the facility involved addition of a new Mitsubishi fiber optic laser and a 600-ton Verson stamping press to support automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and parts manufacturers. Furthermore, the expansion is aimed at supporting the company to meet increasing demand from other OEM customers as well, the company press release.

David Gea, a regional vice president and general manager with Olympic stated that the opening of the new facility will help the company to offer new processed products and additional just-in-time services to its customers. The Budford facility will boost the company’s product and processing capabilities to meet the growing customer needs in the Southeast region.
To celebrate the official opening, the company plans to host an opening event later this year.
It must be noted that the company has 31 facilities across the entire North American region.
