UK Ferrous Scrap Exports Dipped by a Tenth
The south Asian region too witnessed increased imports from the UK, led by Pakistan and India.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The lockdowns imposed by various governments to tackle the spread of Covid-19 has impacted ferrous scrap shipments. The UK shipments recorded 10% decline over the previous year in March this year.
The UK scrap exports totalled 720,818t of ferrous scrap during the month. This is 10.6% lesser when compared with the exports during the same month a year before. The fall in export volumes is mainly attributed to the global dip in demand and the trade restrictions on account of lockdowns.
