Metso to Provide Steel Recycling Plant to Tata Steel India

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Helsinki, Finland-headquartered Metso Corporation has won the order to deliver steel recycling plant to Tata Steel in India. The order is to deliver a Texas Shredder PS to Tata Steel India’s steel scrap recycling plant in Haryana, which will be the first of its kind in the country. The value of the order is yet to be disclosed.
Keith Carroll, Director, Business Development, Metso Metal Recycling stated that the company is very honoured that Tata Steel has relied on its proven metal shredding technology, which is among the most comprehensive in today’s industry. Many of the company’s processing equipment solutions are globally recognized as the benchmark for their product types, he added.

Earlier in June this year, Tata Steel had announced its decision to set up the country’s first steel scrap recycling plant in Rohtak, Haryana, aimed at meeting the growing demand for steel in a sustainable manner. The plant, built on BOO (built, own and operate) model, is expected to have a capacity to process five lakh tonnes of steel scrap per year. The company had also entered into a Ludhiana-based Aarti Steels subsidiary to implement and run the plant.
Tata Steel India and Metso have a long history of successful cooperation, spanning over 25 years. The steel major plans to set up similar steel scrap recycling units in other locations across the country.
