West Fraser Declares Temporary Production Halt at Northern Alberta Mills
The suspension, for a period of two weeks, is aimed at addressing low log inventories.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): West Fraser today announced plans to temporarily suspend production at its Alberta Plywood operations and High Prairie sawmill. The suspension, for a period of two weeks, is aimed at addressing low log inventories at the abovementioned facilities, said company press release.
The curtailments in logging operations on account of wildfires had badly impacted the log inventories at these mills. The inventories were further affected by recent wet weather. The two-week temporary suspension in production will add on to the inventory levels.
