DS Smith Heralds Major Expansion to North American Operations
The new headquarters facility is the latest in the series of announcements made by the company towards expanding its North American footprints.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): London, UK-based packaging major DS Smith announced further expansion in North America with the opening of its new headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The new headquarters in Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta will focus on redefining packaging for the U.S. using closed-loop system.
The new headquarters facility is the latest in the series of announcements made by the company towards expanding its North American footprints. The facility will house nearly 50 employees belonging to various departments including sales, marketing, finance, legal and technical. Earlier in January this year, DS Smith had announced groundbreaking of its new manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Indiana, which promises to add nearly 140 jobs averaging around $22 per hour by 2020. The facility is scheduled to open by the end of the current year.
Commenting on the development, Miles Roberts, global CEO of DS Smith noted that the expansion marks an important milestone in the company’s efforts to bring innovative business model to the U.S. The location of the new headquarters in Atlanta-considered as a global hub of activity for the entire packaging industry in the country will help in redefining packaging for the U.S. by making use of latest and innovative industry techniques.
The company has added a number of industry leaders to its U.S team in the initial half of 2019, as part of expansion of its North American operations. It intends to continue to grow its North America Packaging and Paper team during the second half of the year.
