Global packaging solutions provider acquires Virginia-based firm
Carded Graphics, a Staunton, Virginia-based producer of printed folded cartons has been acquired by Graphic Packaging International Inc.
FALLS CHURCH (Scrap Monster): Graphic Packaging International Inc. has announced acquisition of the assets of Carded Graphics, a Staunton, Virginia-based producer of printed folded cartons. The acquisition has been funded with existing cash and borrowings from the parent company’s revolving line of credit.
According to Michael Doss, Graphic Packaging's President and Chief Operating Officer, the acquisition is part of company’s ongoing strategy to expand its presence in key geographies and end markets. The addition of the Carded Graphics’ modern converting facility will help the company to boost its market potentials in the East coast region. Furthermore, the acquisition will help the company to better service new and existing customers in the region, Doss added.
Meantime, Murry Pitts, President and CEO of Carded Graphics stated that the takeover of the company has happened at the most appropriate time. The strategic tie-up with the global leader in packaging solutions will benefit its employees and customers, noted Pitts. The association will add value to paperboard marketplace, he added.
