US Nickel scrap exports rebound in March
The latest statistics released by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) indicates that the country's Nickel scrap exports
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The latest statistics released by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) indicates that the country’s Nickel scrap exports increased sharply by 24.9% in March this year when compared with the previous month. However, the average export price of nickel scrap declined in comparison with the previous month.
The nickel scrap exports during March ‘15 totaled 2,337 tons, jumping higher significantly by 24.9% when compared with the exports during February this year. The country’s Nickel scrap exports during Feb ’15 had totaled 1,871 tons.
The nickel scrap exports to Canada during March totaled 1,776 tons, constituting more than three-fourth of the total scrap exports by the US during the month. The exports to Canada surged higher by 31.5% when compared with the previous month.
The average export price during Mar ’15 witnessed considerable drop of nearly 14.0% over the previous month. The export prices averaged at $4,562.37 per ton during the month. The Nickel scrap export prices had averaged at $5,304.44 per ton during February this year.
The cumulative nickel scrap exports during the initial three-month period of the year totaled 6,633 tons.
