Matalco introduces new aluminum extrusion plant at Lordstown
Matalco Inc., a Canadian manufacturing company is planning to introduce one of its new plant in the heart of Lordstown, by investing more than hundred million dollars in the aluminum plant.
WASINGTON (Scrap Monster): The new aluminum extrusion plant will be built in the Ohio Commerce Centre, located on Tod Avenue, and the construction of the plant is expected to start soon. Mataclco, the Canadian company is one of the North America’s largest independent aluminum recyclers, which specializes in the production, logs and grade aluminum billets. The main re4ason that, the company accepted Lordstown to create its plant due to the city’s proximity to highways, rail as well as the company’s customers.
Matalco’s director of corporate development, Robert Roscetti, explained to the residents of Lordstown that, the company is specialized in the production logs and billets, made from aluminum. The log is crafted and cut down into various diameters by the company and provided to the customers, which they provide to the extruders, who would later extrude the log to desired shapes and sizes, according to the customers.
The company is taking upon the city based on its promise of 75 percent tax reduction for 10 years intact. According to the mayor of Lordtown, Arno Hills, the company is bringing about 80-60 jobs, contributing about 4 million dollars worth payroll, and he also added that, the city has got the perfect site for the company. He also stated that, with the coming of the plant, the city would get more jobs and more investment, also help regarding the schools.
The facility is expected to start the production nearly in 2016.
